Students will be introduced to the Windows environment by covering the basic terminology of the desktop, icons and windows. File management techniques and organizing computer files are discussed to students are able to practice so they become more proficient. Microsoft Word covers word processing terminology as well as in-class exercises that include data input, page layout, formatting text and keyboard shortcuts. Students will also practice selection techniques using the mouse and integrate mouse techniques to select and edit text in a document. Microsoft Excel covers spreadsheet terminology as well as in-class exercises that include data input, page layout, formatting spreadsheet content and keyboard shortcuts. Students will practice selection techniques using the mouse and integrate mouse techniques to select and edit spreadsheet content in a workbook.
