In-depth study of selected topics in real or complex analysis. Proceeds on the assumption that a more advanced and deeper understanding of mathematics can be both useful and interesting to teachers and students who are not research mathematicians. Features self-contained presentations, using concrete models for abstract concepts: for example, Fourier analysis is presented based upon the vibrations of musical strings. Focuses on the needs of secondary school mathematics teachers. Prerequisites: two courses in Calculus; or permission of the instructor.
