An introduction to the Divine Comedy by Dante Alighieri, with focus on the elements that constitute characterize Italian society during the Middle Ages and the most influential people at the time. The course analyses Canti from the Inferno, Purgatory and Paradiso. Prerequisites: This course is taught in English, however, students who are minoring or majoring in Italian must take IT201 before this course. No prerequisites are necessary for students who are minoring or majoring in Italian.
