Description:
In this course, Ways of Knowing and Learning, students become familiar with theories of knowledge and learning in addition to strategies and techniques for learning and thinking. The course will cover insights from cognitive psychology, educational theory, and philosophy, various conceptions of learning styles and critical thinking. Additionally, students engage in concrete ways to approach their studies in order to become actively involved in their own learning process. All activities in the course explore the theoretical foundations of effective learning. The course is partially online and employs a technology-facilitated inquiry-based learning approach. Students who have completed at least one semester and are struggling with their academics would most benefit from the course.
