A supervised clinical internship that facilitates an understanding of the professional practice aspects of the health information system. The student will learn about the organization, regulation, accreditation and logistics of the acute care information system, as well as non-acute care components, such as, long term care; behavioral health; utilization, risk and quality management; classification and reimbursement systems and datasets; and patient care registries.
