Covers style, organization, and mechanics of technical papers, with emphasis on special problems that face the technical writer: analyses and descriptions of objects and processes, reports, proposals, business correspondence, and research papers. Students write a number of short reports and one long research paper. By the end of the course, professional standards of accuracy in mechanics and presentation are expected. Some impromptu writing exercises.
