Description:
-
A four–week summer art workshop in England and Scotland. Students first fly to
London for an introductory week visiting contemporary metalsmiths, museums and
galleries, followed by three weeks traveling in Scotland, working in studio facilities
operated by the Glasgow School of Art. The course structure is directed toward
studio art majors with a concentration in Metals/Jewelry/CAD-CAM, and
emphasizes the creation of artwork based on the student’s cross-cultural
experiences during the trip. Access to English and Scottish metalsmiths and
artist/educators, travel and museum visits supplement the curriculum.
