For the prospective teacher of vocal music; practical solutions to problems of audition procedures, development of musical skills within the choral rehearsal, repertoire and programming, voice classes, performance planning and execution, the changing voice, and needs of special learners.

Note: Required for all music education majors.

For choral/general emphasis: MUSIC 1225 and either MUS ED 2671 or 2675. For instrumental emphasis: Either MUS ED 2671 or 2675. All majors: MUS ED 2665, 3661, 4666, MUSIC 2323, 2324, passing scores on Praxis 1 examinations in reading, writing and math. Current required clearances for the Music Education degree program: PA Child Abuse History; PA Criminal History Check; and FBI Fingerprint and Criminal History Report
