This course surveys strategies for the development of the instrumental jazz ensemble in secondary school settings. Topics will include (but not be limited to): instrumentation, rehearsal techniques, literature, listening, improvisation, styles, rhythm, articulation, rhythm section, and programming.

Note: Special authorization only. Required of all music education majors with band or orchestra emphasis.
