The goal of this course is to provide business students with an understanding of the challenges and opportunities of managing new and small firms. Managers of new and small enterprises tend to have limited resources and limited experience. Their goal is to beat the odds of failure, grow and become profitable. This course brings the “hands-on” tools and techniques that students will need to launch and manage a small business successfully. Note: For Entrepreneurship majors or minors, this course can be substituted for SGM 3585, Internship I. SGM 3503 or 3585 is a prerequisite for SGM 3685 and 4596, the capstone course for Entrepreneurship majors or minors. SGM 4596 is offered only in the spring.
