In Science Methods, students explore science theory, practice, and pedagogy that are based upon children's cognitive development that is appropriate at the PK-4 grade levels. Contemporary science education research and practice, as articulated in Pennsylvania Academic Standards for Science and Technology, Environment and Ecology (STEE), STEE Anchor Assessments,Benchmarks for Science Literacy, published by the American Association for the Advancement of Science, and The National Science Education Standards, published by the National Research Council, are also analyzed. Prerequisites: ECE 204, ECE 205, ECE 214, ECE 240, and ECE 245.
