Reading Methods II prepares pre-service teachers to successfully teach reading and writing to students in Grades 2 through 4. Students are taught methodologies for systematic and direct instruction in reading, developmentally appropriate instruction in the mechanics and process of writing, the assessment of language arts skills, the remediation of struggling readers, instruction of ELL learners, and linking Pennsylvania Academic Standards in Language Arts to content instruction. Prerequisites: ECE 204, ECE 205, ECE 214, ECE 240, and ECE 245.
