A course taken prior to admission into the Teacher Education Program. This course explores teaching as a career choice. It includes an examination of the historical, theoretical, philosophical, and sociological foundations of education. Includes current issues, practices, roles of school personnel and federal and state laws regarding discrimination in education. A concurrent school field practicum is required. Prerequisite: Sophomore class standing. Required for Program admission. Additional fees for fingerprinting and the CBEST exam will be required.
