(Alternate years 2009-2010) An overview of communication theories—the ethnography of communication, classical and modern rhetorical theory, and theories of how we make meaning, drawn from social psychology. Each class may also choose a set of applications for these theories appropriate to student interests—applications in cross-cultural communication, mass media, professional/organizational communication, etc. Prerequisites: EN 200 and six credits of additional courses listed in the Communications Minor.
