This course is designed to provide the first-time, first year student with the academic and social skills required to become an engaged member of the Warner Pacific academic community. Working from a specific understanding of motivation, the purpose of a liberal arts education, academic self-efficacy, sense of belonging and strength, students are encouraged to claim their education individually and mutually. Through readings, discussions, critical and reflective writing and mentor interactions students will articulate their own perspectives on learning and growth. Required of all first-time, fall semester freshmen. Not available on a Pass/No Pass basis.
