An introduction to the operations function, which is responsible for the planning, organizing and controlling of resources in both manufacturing and service industries. These functions are studied from the managerial, administrative and employee perspectives. Topic areas include supply chain management, inventory management, aggregate planning, material requirements planning, short-term scheduling, just-in-time and lean production systems, maintenance and reliability.
