Molds will be made in various materials and complexities. The wax work will include carving, build-up, and fabrication from wax wire and sheet. PREREQUISITES: None COURSE OBJECTIVES: Identify types of molds and how they are made from an original model. Prepare master model and vulcanize rubber mold. Cut rubber mold and inject wax pattern. Vulcanize and cut a silicone mold. Make an RTV(cold) mold and cut. Construct a wax pattern by carving. Construct a wax pattern by the build-up method. Inject a wax pattern and modify it to fit an odd cut or size stone. Polish and prepare a wax pattern for sprueing.
