PREREQUISITES: None COURSE OBJECTIVES: Maintain a professional relationship with other students and supervisory personnel. Use correct oral and written English. Monitor behavior of children in all situations. Respect and value all children. Use anti-bias language and techniques. Project a sense of self-worth and confidence. Demonstrate a willingness to participate in all activities. Display appropriate dress code and demeanor. Accept and implement suggestions. Model professional behavior at all times. Complete assigned tasks/duties competently and efficiently according to job description. Take initiative in implementing age-appropriate tasks/skills/theories learned in class when interacting with children. Demonstrate cooperative attitude when implementing suggestions. Get along well with others. TEXTBOOKS AND OTHER MATERIALS: Creative Resources for Infants/Toddlers ATTENDANCE POLICY: Students must be officially enrolled in any course that they attend. It is expected that students will attend scheduled classes regularly and on time. If an absence occurs, it is the responsibility of the student to make up all missed work. Students who stop attending a course and do not officially withdraw will receive grades of 0 for all work missed and will result in a punitive final grade. This policy shall be superceded by any more stringent attendance policy required by a regulatory or licensing body having jurisdiction over program requirements. Attendance will be tracked and maintained for various reporting purposes. EVALUATION AND GRADING: Be specific and clear. Include the types of evaluation activities you will use (tests, quizzes, papers, projects, homework, class participation, laboratory exercise, presentations, etc.) Also provide the weighted contributions of each evaluation activity toward the student's final grade. ACADEMIC HONESTY: Plagiarism, cheating, and other forms of academic dishonesty are prohibited. In addition to other possible disciplinary sanctions, which may be imposed through the regular institutional procedures as a result of academic misconduct, your instructor will assign a 0 for the exercise or examination that evidences academic misconduct for the first offense and assign an "F" for the course for repeated offenses.
