Tasks: Explain the history of barbering, LA State laws and regulations, and the personal and professional qualities required by the successful barber-stylist. Relate good posture to specific barber-styling procedures. Classify types of bacteria as to pathogenic and non-pathogenic. Describe appropriate cleaning and sanitation procedures for tools, implements, and equipment. State the purposes, beneficial effects, and types of facial massage, noting when a massage should and should not be given. Identify basic anatomy of the head, face, and neck, including the muscles, nerves, arteries, veins, and motor points. Identify types of electrical equipment and massage movements used in head, face, and neck massage, giving the effects of each.
