This course is a two-semester introduction to conducting applied research. It will prepare Consulting Psychology students for their future research requirements including the doctoral dissertation. The course is taught as a guided experience in planning and executing actual research in an area of Consulting Psychology. Working in teams, students enrolled in the class will identify a suitable topic and develop appropriate hypotheses. Next, the methods and instruments for testing the hypotheses will be developed. Data will then be collected and analyzed pertinent to the hypotheses. Finally, a written report of the research will be prepared suitable for publication in a journal or presentation at a professional meeting. Prerequisites: PSY 6021, PSY 6022, ORG 6016, and ORG 6023. Corequisite: ORG 7020.
