(3, 3 units) Students will learn about statistical techniques that are of relevance to conducting research, reading the research literature, and being thoughtful users of assessment instruments. In particular, the course focuses on (a) understanding statistical methods as they are employed in research studies, (b) decision making in choosing among these methods for a particular data analysis application, and (c) evaluating published research reports in which these methods have been used.
