Credits: 4 Prerequisite: MATH 1467 This course gives a general theoretical and practical introduction to physics. It is a continuation of PHYS 1401. However, it may be taken without having taken General Physics I. The theory part contains parts of the following topics: fluids, thermodynamics, selected topics in electricity and magnetism, AC and DC circuit theory, waves and light, modern physics, atomic and nuclear physics. The practical topics will include the use of lab equipment to help develop these concepts. Knowledge of college algebra and trig are needed for success in this course. Transfer Curriculum Goal(s): 3
