NATR 1300 - Summer Field Experience

Credits: 3 Prerequisite: none This course involves 5-7 days of travel in the northeastern part of Minnesota. We will visit a fish hatchery, talk with parks, forestry, and other natural resource personnel. We camp at Gooseberry State Park, backpack and camp at Eagle Mountain, and canoe and camp in the Boundary Waters. During this trip we talk and discuss the ecology, topography, and geology of the area. Students receive written instructions on packing gear and food, along with an itinerary of the trip. A short paper is required on each individual's experience (2-3 pages). Transfer Curriculum Goal(s): none
