ENGR 2552 - Introduction to Dynamics

Institution:
Central Lakes College
Subject:
Description:
Credits: 3 Prerequisite: MATH 1470 and PHYS 1401, or instructor's approval This course is designed for students pursuing an AAS degree in Applied Engineering Technology. In this course, students apply methods to analyze the dynamics of rigid bodies under general force systems with an emphasis on practical applications in engineering. It deals with the study of kinematics and kinetics as applied to the analysis of simple engineering structures and machines. Kinematics is the study of motion of particles and extended rigid bodies without reference to the causes of the motion. Kinetics is the study of the relationship between motion and the forces that cause the motion. Specific topics include motions in 1-, 2-, and 3-dimensions, relative motion and momentum. The student should have a strong background in mathematics and be working at the college algebra level.connected bodies, and energy and momentum.
