Credits: 2 Prerequisite: CHEM 1405 or CHEM 1414 or CHEM 1424 or BIOL 2467 This course examines the basic principles of nutrition, including the composition, sources and dietary requirements for carbohydrates, lipids, proteins, water, vitamins and minerals; the effects of deficiencies and toxicity, diet planning; digestive system anatomy and physiology; and energy balance.
