3 credits This course introduces students to the world of women in ancient Rome. Through a close, interdisciplinary analysis of the evidence-including depictions of women in visual, literary, and documentary sources, in addition to the growing body of secondary literature-participants become acquainted with the basics of feminist theory and some of the most important works of Roman art and literature.
