UMass Boston has a history of outstanding student poets who have gone on to distinguished careers: winning prizes, publishing, and teaching. This is an advanced workshop for students who have had experience writing poetry. The main objects are (1) to get your poems into the best possible shape; (2) to develop your critical (and self-critical) abilities through revision, class discussion, and continuing reading-and listening-on your own; and (3) to share your work with your peers and get expert, sympathetic feedback.
