Overview of the development and financing of residential real estate with a concentration on the development of housing affordable to low-income households. Discusses real estate valuation and the financial tools necessary to invest in or develop residential housing. Focuses on the basics of real estate finance, including different methods of investment analysis, tax concepts, leverage and risk assessment. Case studies and guest lectures by a number of Greater Boston's leading practitioners in the field of low-income housing development. Prerequisites Graduate Standing or permission of instructor.
