Provides a broad discussion of public policy issues relating to the use and management of natural resources in the United States and to some extent, the world. Examines the major natural resource categories: air, water, and land. Reviews the means and techniques available to federal, state, and local governments to plan and protect natural resources. Focuses on the relationship between science and planning as the proper means for formulating public policy. Prerequisites Graduate standing or seniors with permission of instructor.
