A study of British literature and culture of the period from 1660 to 1740. Emphasis on Restoration drama, political satire, and the emerging English novel. Writers include Dryden, Rochester, Behn, Swift, Pope, and Defoe. Prerequisites ENGLISH 0001/ 0002 REQUIRED or Fulfillment of College Writing Requirement. Recommended that the student already have taken either English 20,21,22, or 23.
