Theories and research on the impact of separation, divorce, and remarriage on the social and cognitive development of children. Topics will include children's understanding of the separation and divorce experience, postdivorce parent-child relationships, and school and family interactions. Implications of research findings for parenting after divorce, legislation and judicial practice, school policies, and planning of intervention programs. Prerequisites Child Development 1 or Psychology 1.
