The study of child development as related to diverse educational programs for young children. Includes observations at the Eliot-Pearson Children's School as well as other selected environments, to strengthen understanding of how theories and values inform diverse approaches to early education. Lectures, videos, small group discussions of reading assignments and observational reports. (This course is a prerequisite for Child Development 135, 136 and must be taken prior to or concurrent with Child Development 171, 172.) Prerequisites Child Development 1 or permission of instructor.
