Interdisciplinary course, presented primarily through a native lens, provides an overview of key issues relevant to the survival and continuity of native peoples in their homeland. Topics include stereotypes and misconceptions, pre- and post- contact lives; eurocentric and holistic history, spirituality and appropriations, enforced and native led education, representation in the arts, and the reclaiming of indigenous rights. Native focus presented through writings, videos, native presenters, and a community fieldtrip.
