3 semester hours This course enables the student to apply principles of pharmacologic knowledge for the promotion and maintenance of health. It introduces the students to concepts related to the classification, action, and implications of drug therapy. Principles governing drug absorption, distribution, metabolism, and excretion are examined in light of factors which alter these processes. Pharmacologic principles are adapted to developmental levels. Prerequisite: Biology 107 or permission of instructor. Co-requisite: Biology 108.
