3 semester hours Data models including relational, hierarchical and network models, performance measures, query languages and optimizers, database security and integrity, and distributed systems. This course uses the SQL query language, and a DBMS package. Three hours of lecture and one hour of laboratory. Prerequisite: CSCI 295 or permission of instructor. Not offered every year.
