7 semester hours (Theory-5, Clinical-2) This course focuses on health promotion and the role of nursing in caring for clients with common mental health disruptions and related conditions. The nurse-patient relationship is explored in depth through expansion of the communication process through the use of therapeutic communication. Prerequisites: BIOL 107, NURS 100, NURS 103-Theory, and PSYC 200. Co-requisites: BIOL 108, HLTH 110, and NURS 103-Clinical.
