Prerequisite: CECS 326 or 362. Overview of computer network theory and practice from a systems perspective. Topics include network infrastructure, local area network (LAN) protocols, wide area network (WAN) protocols, switching technologies, Internet Protocol (IP), Transmission Control Protocol (TCP), network security, and network configuration, design, and performance. (Lecture 2 hours, laboratory 3 hours.) Letter grade only (A-F).
