Students will gain historical and cultural perspective of nonsymphonic percussion instruments, learn care and maintenance for equipment, and develop fundamental percussion techniques necessary to arrange and facilitate group drumming experiences. Students will play in solo and ensemble settings. Prerequisites: Mus 151 or 130. Instrument Maintenance and Repair. (2, repeatable to 8) A study of the principles and practices of maintenance, repair, and adjustment of instruments. Each offering will cover one or two of the following: piano, bowed and plucked string instruments, brass or woodwind, percussion. Prerequisite: junior standing or consent of instructor. Elementary Guitar. (2) Combines beginning guitar techniques and music fundamentals.
