Philosophical development of the middle school will be analyzed as well as the advisory role of the middle school teacher for health and social services. Developmentally appropriate curriculum and instructional methods including content area reading instruction and techniques for blending subject matter content relevant to the early adolescent are provided. A minimum grade of C is required of elementary education majors. Prerequisites: EIS 301 or at least one methods course; fully accepted into Teacher Education Program.
