Introduction to the historical, programming, physical, legal, social, and economic aspects of broadcasting and cable. IAI: MC 914. ( formerly BC 223) Introduction to Broadcast Production. (3) An introduction to basic audio/video production techniques. Students learn skills necessary to perform studio- and remote-camera operation, basic lighting, audio recording, and basic video and audio editing. Introduction to Broadcast Research and Writing. (3) Course focuses on finding, researching, and presenting material for a variety of media, purposes, and audiences. Includes study of interviewing, writing, and copy editing skills and library use. Prerequisites: BC 100; BC 101 with a grade of C or better.
