09W, 09X, 10W: 10 A course intended for students with little or no knowledge of music theory. Among topics covered are musical notation, intervals, scales, rhythm and meter, and general musical terminology. Concepts will be directly related to music literature in class and through assignments. Students will have the opportunity to compose simple pieces and work on ear training.
