Not offered in the period from 08F through 10S Studying representations of Christianity, Islam, and Judaism in the arts, history, theology and racial discourse in nineteenth century Britain, France, and Germany, this course will examine the rise of Islamic and Judaic Studies and Orientalist themes in the arts, including poetry, novels, travel writing, and briefly, music and painting.
