09S: 11 This course will focus on the United States in the period following World War II. It will examine both domestic and international themes, exploring relationships between the two. Specific topics will include U.S. policy in Europe and Asia, National Security, the economy, developments in organized labor, political repression in the 1950s, political parties, mass culture, intellectual and artistic innovations, the civil rights movement, and the student protest movement.
