09F: 12 In this class we will analyze the multifaceted nature of one significant aspect of the "peculiar institution"-slave resistance. We will discuss how scholars have portrayed and theorized about slave resistance, as well as its relation to social control. In addition, we will examine the various pathways of resistance of African/African-American slaves.
