Description:
Development of structure/property relationships and the effect of process variables on the physical and mechanical properties of structural and non-structural wood composite materials including oriented strand board, medium density fiberboard, particleboard, hardboard, plywood, inorganic bonded composites, and wood/polymer composites. Analysis of a wood composite manufacturing process, including cost models, marketing, and project planning will be conducted by student teams as a capstone experience. Laboratory activities will be incorporated to illustrate a variety of composite manufacturing issues. ?Lec 2, Lab 3. Satisfies the General Education Capstone Experience Requirement.
