An introduction to visual culture and its relationship to the development and maintenance of human knowledge and experience. Students will explore and gain insight into diverse forms of visual culture, including those different from and similar to their own cultural experiences; and will become aware of the relationship between visual culture and the theory and practice of contemporary education as it takes place within the contexts of schools, museums and other community-based settings.
