Introduction to archaeological field techniques through excavation of an archaeological site. Intensive training in site survey, excavations techniques, recording, analysis and preliminary interpretation of archaeological materials. Generally conducted on prehistoric and historic sites in Maine. Admission by application only. Satisfies the General Education Applications of Scientific Knowledge and Cultural Diversity and International Perspectives Requirements. (Offered Summers only.) Prerequisites & Notes permission.
