An introduction to the discipline of Information Technology. This includes the pervasive Information Technology themes, the history of Information Technology, and organization issues surrounding Information Technology and its uses. The relationships to the other main area of computing such as Information Systems, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, and Computer Science are explored. The main branches of Information Technology including infrastructure and application software are covered. A brief introduction to the various Information Technology courses involved in the degree program will be done. Careers and job opportunities will also be noted in the course. Cr. 3.
