Introduces the field of folklore by focusing on women's folklore in terms of life cycle and role, by exploring the range of women's occupations and related traditional knowledge, and by looking at women as traditional verbal and visual artists.Preparation for Course P: placement at or above ENG W131 (or equivalent) and exemption from or completion of ENG R150. Cr. 3. Notes If you are required by placement examination to take ENG R150, it is recommended that you complete that requirement before enrolling in any folklore or classics course.
