A study of the principles and practice of problem solving using MATLAB. Topics include MATLAB basics, functions and variables, file input and output, user-defined functions and program design, complex data manipulation, graphical user interface, and technical problem-solving applications, etc. The students shall gain hands-on experience through several programming assignments and practice strategies for collaborative problem solving such as creating specifications, brainstorming, sketching an idea, solution evaluation, and solutions testing. Preparation for Course P: MA 153 and ECET 114 or CS 114. Cr. 1-4.
